Features and benefits of a Crumb tag
There are many incredible features included with a Crumb subscription. Here we will explain what each feature does and how they can be used to reunite you with your pet as quickly as possible.
Online Pet Profile
This is the page where whoever scans your missing pet's tag will be bought. Here is an example of what it looks like👇
Here we can see the pet's name, breed, sex and age. We can also share the location directly with the owner by clicking the "Share Location" button.
We can also call the owner. The number you will see will be masked to protect the owner's privacy. This is similar technology to what Uber and JustEat/SkipTheDishes use.
We can see here that the owner has also set up a backup contact, just in case they don't pick up.
Finally, we can see the pet's address, any notes left by the owner, as well as information about any allergies and medication that the pet is taking.
Instant GPS Alerts
As soon as your pet's tag is scanned and the "Share Location" button is pressed, the owner will be sent a text message with the exact GPS location of where the tag was scanned.
This will save an unnecessary trip to the vet to be reunited with your lost pet and will get you reunited with them faster.
Vet and Shelter Alerts
As soon as your pet is marked missing from within your Crumb Dashboard, we will send a notification to every vet and shelter within a 15-mile radius of your home.
We will include information about their breed, allergies, age, and even a custom missing pet poster. But most importantly, how to get in touch with the owner.
Snout ID
Did you know that your pet's snout is unique to them?
Just like how a human fingerprint is unique, a pet's snout is one-of-a-kind. And just like how a human fingerprint can be used to identify someone, a pet's snout can also be used to identify a pet.
Within your Crumb account, you can upload a scan of your pet's snout to our database. Meaning that even if their collar were removed, if anyone were to scan their snout they would be able to find their pet profile and be reunited with their owner.

Privacy Mode
You can never be careful enough with your personal information, and we know not everyone will want information about their pets to be easily accessible. This is why we have implemented additional privacy measures to protect both your and your pet's information.
From within the "Pets" section of your Crumb Dashboard, you can choose to enable the Privacy Mode feature. By doing so, you will hide both your and your pet's name from their pet profile. If you want to make sure you're only sharing the information you want to share, you can see what the pet profile will look like by clicking the "View Pet Profile" button.
This is in addition to the call mask technology integrated to protect the owner's privacy.
This works similarly to how Uber or Just Eat do it, where the call routes through a third-party number and then calls the owner.
